In Da Club

Piers' Paradise is a Live Music Venue, owned by Cancer Piers. The description for the spot says the venus is a showcase of of SL's best live musicians.
When I visited Piers' Paradise, I found solo guitarist Arimo Teixeira performing tunes with a definite Latin feel. The music was just incredible, and I ended up staying much longer than I had intended, and left feeling regret that I couldn't listen to more.
According to Teixeira's profile, he is an arranger, composer, and songwriter of Latin Fusion and Nu-jazz, with training in contemporary and classical guitar styles. To hear a sampling of Teixeira's music, visit www.myspace.com/mariometsovaara/.
Teixeira's performance was interspersed with interesting conversation, and he pointed out his tip holder on the side of the side, a prim dummy named "Pancho" who slumped over in a long nap.
The music was impeccable, and the venue was a beautiful setting for it. "Club" is not an adequate word to use in describing the place, which is a skybox. Its walls give the illusion of a constant night fall, and astronomers would find plenty of realistic stars painting the enclosure.
The stage is backed into a corner, framed by tall wooden columns and an arch with the same texture. On each side of the stage is another arch and column set, punctuated by an elegant green and gold curtain.
The dance floor picks up the blues and golds found elsewhere in the venue, with veins of purple streaking through. A round stone platform rotates in the middle of the dance floor, and clicking it will cause your avatar to dance in animations from Sine Wave. Gas streetlamps with ivy baskets frame one corner of the floor.
The one disappointing facet of this site is the lack of conversation. Though I was warmly greeted when I arrived, I was not spoken to after that. There was a host, but he did little to encourage conversation among those present.
Nevertheless, I would definitely return to this venue, mainly to enjoy the music. I would probably bring my own friends, though, to laugh and joke around with while listening to the music.
