Marathon for Hope for Haiti at SLNE
SL New England (SLNE) recently hosted the Marathon for Hope for Haiti, which featured a full day line-up of all star entertainers from 5 AM until 10 PM SLT. In addition, a silent auction was conducted through Feb. 7 with items donated by SLNE merchants and proceeds going to Haiti Relief.
SL residents sang along and danced while listening to some of SLs top entertainers and taking time to donate at the Haiti Relief kiosks. It all started with a wake-up call to SLNEers by the talented Seraja Seriman at 5 AM SLT and continued through the day with some of SLs favorites like Cylindrian Rutabaga, Lehman Shinn, Joaquin Gustav, Damian Carbenelll and Clairede Drival.
All told, approximately twenty performers came out to support the cause to the delight of all in attendance. Ending up the line-up was Eponymous Drake putting the finishing touches on an exciting and successful event, which culminated in over L$100,000 for Haiti Relief from the concert and all other fund raising activities thus far.
Several other fundraising events were held at SLNE through the month of February. Over L$300,000 was donated for Haiti Relief as a result of the generous contributions of all who attended the fundraisers.
Haiti Relief is a collaboration of concerned individuals, some of whom are involved with other organizations, non profits, and groups in SL that have come together to form a group to help host events, raise funds & awareness for Haitian relief.
