Queen’s Day Celebrated at Amsterdam
It was a great day for wearing the Orange on April 30th at Coyote Farm Amsterdam (62, 147, 22) when residents and visitors to the SL recreation of Amsterdam celebrated Queen's Day with open air markets, concerts and dancing until they dropped from exhaustion.
Queen's Day (in Dutch: Koninginnedag) has been celebrated for over fifty years throughout the Netherlands. In Amsterdam, it's a unique night and day carnival-like event held on April 30, and during the night before - so called Queen's Night (in Dutch: Koninginnenacht). It's a huge party across the whole city and is combined with markets in the street (Dutch: Vrijmarkt).
Owners of Coyote Farm Amsterdam, Nadia Lassally and Wildcat Laszlo, created that same carnival atmosphere at the SL Amsterdam with open air markets surrounding the town square. There, performers like Carmen Roeth entertained the happy partiers, who danced and enjoyed treats such as traditional waffles and pastries.
Lassally and Laszlo, also owners of the adjacent Coyote Biker Island and the Coyote Ugly Club, are talented designers and builders of motorcycles offering miles of open roads where residents can ride their bikes. A special orange edition of one of their motorcycles called The Dutch Queen, was raffled off to a lucky party goer.
Their SL version of Amsterdam includes shops and residences along a lovely canal, as well as a club in the red light district. Something not to be missed is Wildy's Chicken Farm where residents can purchase chickens, eggs and chicken coops to set up their own chicken farm.
