The call of gulls, the tramp of hooves through freshly fallen snow, and the distant sight of onion domes, and we step off the slip stream into Peterhof, one of ten sims that make up the Court of RP.  This is a developing society of intrigue with nobility, commoners (workers), rebels and bandits set against the rich backdrop of Russia 1775.

The border crossings between the ten sims can be a little abrupt, and I was dropped in the drink several times.  One very nice thing, though, are the riding and sleighing sites.  In nearly every sim, you are able to pick up a majestic black horse to ride or commandeer a sleigh to take you around.  There are several speeds to the horses, even a fly option, but I would not recommend that one. It would be a rare horse in 1775 Russia who could fly.

Not sure how to portray a Russian, especially one from 1775?  Well, there are several people to help you build your persona. RuBre Coba is the estate owner, builder and main administrator.  In a note card you are given when entering, you are warned that he is busy all the time so it is best to contact someone else if you can.

Elizabeth Koray is the Leader of Foreign affairs department, master of schedules, events and lady affairs, as well as a court minister.

Shaokar Wilder is one of the Administrators of the role play system, leader of the rebellion, and the one who can answer most of your questions regarding to the RPS.

ThomasK Andel is also an Administrator of RPS system and the leader of army.

FireFly Joubert is the Head RP advisor.  She is the one to contact about developing your character and for explanations on roleplay in general.

Anita Leonoase is the expert on fashion and court life, as well as on events of the court and lady affairs.  Two others on the council who can help answer your questions and help develop your roleplay experience are Gabrielle Glendevon  and Sol Pau.

The estate consists from ten interconnected sims.  A greetings notecard states that they are planning to add more in the future.  I would suggest entering this role play environment through Siberia Tsarovskye, where you will find a notecard giver containing advice, vital information on Russian history from 1775, free period clothing to get you started and venders to supply accessories.

ThomasK Andel says they have been up and running for about a month.  In that month, they have set up towns, training facilities, palaces and even a university.

The Russian Court Role Play is quite a challenge for most modern Westerners.  This is the time of Tsarina Ekaterina II, who was born a poor German princess, and died a Russian empress.  Her husband was the unpopular Tsar Peter III.  He was distrusted by his nobles who thought him a fool and a wastrel.  The Tsarina had been quietly gathering support of her own and managed to overthrow him and take rule of the country for herself.  She set about expanding her country's borders, embarking on cultural reforms, and leading her country to become one of the greatest nobilities in all of Europe.

The founders of Russian Court RP encourage people to play all levels of society.  The builds are fantastic with grandiose palaces and mean hovels, bejeweled carriages and tall sailing ships.  They would like to challenge you to come and play, develop a character you love and love the roleplay you do.   There are plenty of people to help build your back story and give depth to your role.

One side note: I did find lag to be a problem while riding the horse especially if I was galloping. Keeping to a cantor or walk helped somewhat.

Where will the winds of Second Life blow us next?  Perhaps we should consult our crystal ball.
