Tuesday,March 30, 2010, 7pm "Cripple Creek", by James Sallis
Maxito Ricardo leads the book talk on mystery "Cripple Creek" by James
Sallis at Mystery Manor at 7pm. Cripple Creek is a starred review in
both Publisher's Weekly and Booklist. "In Sallis's beautifully written
second book to feature Turner, an ex-cop and ex-con (after 2004's
Cypress Grove), Turner is working as a deputy sheriff in Cripple
Creek, Tenn., a small town where crime is minor and strictly local.

Maxito Ricardo will lead a book talk about Peter May's novel
"Virtually Dead", set in Second Life. If you've now read the book and

April 27, 2010, 7pm "Missing" by Karin Alvtegen
Maxito Ricardo leads the book talk on "Missing" by Karin Alvtegen at
7pm at Mystery Manor. Karin Alvtegen is a Swedish writer. Come and
hear more about Swedish mysteries.
The Tony Hillerman and southwestern mysteries exhibit is still up at

Taken from "Ireland: a novel"... tonight I'm going to tell you about the patron saint of Ireland-Saint Patrick, Saint Paddy, Saint Pat. Now you all know certain things about Saint Patrick. He wasn't yet a saint, of course, at the time I'm talking about. So we'll refer to him simply as 'Patrick,' and this is about the way he walked among us. I'm going to tell you how he converted the country from paganism. And then I'll tell you how he banished snakes and drove the devil out of Ireland. Offered in live voice by our own Shandon Loring.
