Take a tour through the origins of modern photography, from the daguerreotype to the ferrotype (a.k.a. "tintype"). The 19th century was the heyday of "wet plate" photography, where the artist had to work while the emulsion was wet and active. Even with this limitation, the wet-plate process brought portraiture to the masses, and enabled visual artists to express themselves in a startling new way! This exhibit, created by Nabila Nadir, beautifully illustrates the progression between these techniques and the ways they were used.

Ghosts, or as they are called in the Irish, Thevshi or Tash, live in a state between this life and the next. They are held there by some earthly longing or affection, or some duty unfilled.
When the soul has left the body, it is drawn away, sometimes by the faeries. The souls of the departed sometimes take the shapes of animals, and may return to watch over some loved one left behind, or to finish a task left undone.
Tonight enjoy a two tales of ghosts continuing to interact with their living kindred from W.B. Yeats' collective book titled "Irish Fairy & Folk Tales"
-The Fate of Frank M'Kenna
-Ceann Beag and the Kings Sons
plus some short poems on the topic. All presented in voice.
